The pour is stout black with a nice light brown head that left sheets of lacing.
The taste is that of a well balanced imperial stout, just dialed back a little. How they got that much flavor in this ABV is a bit of a mystery to me.
The feel is perfectly appropriate for the style, just expected more body with all that flavor.
OA, this is one that I would always have in my cellar for when I really wanted a solid stout but still needed to keep my wits about me.
Good beer!

TRVE Brewing Co. "StoutO)))"
$5/10 oz. on tap at the brewery on 10/06/2019
Notes: Black in color beneath a creamy brown head, at least in the dimly lit brewery. The aroma clearly expresses dark malts with notes of dark chocolate, black coffee, burnt sugar, and a general kind of roastiness. The flavor follows with all of those notes and an additional bit of milk chocolate, as well as some ashen roastiness or char that helps to dry it. Perfectly balanced by a median bitterness that leads to a dry finish in concert with a little bit of acidity from the dark malts. The dark chocolate and ashen roastiness linger. The head has dropped but held up well, and it leaves thin, broken lace about the glass. Medium bodied and gently crisp and smooth.

Jet black body; decent head, a little thin yet lasting; sticky, spidery fingers of foam cling to the glass. Nice aroma combination of roasted and charred grain, bitter chocolate, and possibly dark roast coffee. Fine milk chocolate taste enhanced with grain char and medium hop bitterness. Heavy, silky smooth body; glassy.
A pretty straight-forward stout. I don't taste coffee, so I'm guessing it wasn't used and it was just the roasted, charred grains that gave that impression in the smell. I like the simple balance of basic flavors. Combined, they play well with each other and offer some elementary yet satisfying complexity.
