L - crystalline, bubbly, good head development, foam, lacing. YES. Might be the best thing about the beer.
S - This surprised me; given the mix of hops, of Columbus, Strata, Idaho 7, Belma, Meridian (4/08/25 batch), I kind of expected "more" on the nose and taste from this beer. Could just be that they moved production to the New Image facility in Arvada, or it could be the specific hop bill, anyway, what I get is bread, a little cut grass, but not much of a floral hop profile, and almost no pine (sad face). There's a whiff of strong cracker as it warms, but come on, this isn't a pilsner. Let's go, TRVE!?
T - Again, muted for the 8% ABV and the strange mix of hops here; it is a perfectly well made DIPA, but not one that stands out in any way unlike some of their standard IPAs (hello, Tunnel, hello Scorn even). More bread, smooth hops, a little hint of dankness (it's supposed to be their 4/20 beer). But yeah, a bit let down.
F - Gorgeous mouthfeel like any other TRVE beer; this is balanced, no hop burn, and smooth AF. You could put down pints of this stuff before you realize it's 8% and then be in trouble. Carbonation on point.
O - This was a surprise for me; every beer I've had from TRVE has been at or near world-class. This one? I'm not sure, but I think they could easily change the hop bill to give it more character with some Simcoe, or Nelson involved.

Clear, light gold pour; body appear a rich gold color; dense, lively carbonation; thick, frothy head, white and sticky, very long-lasting, rocky appearance. Very pleasant aroma; delicate citrus with more dominant floral and pine tones. Gentle malt sweetness balanced with a mild hop zestiness; moderate amount of hop bitterness; very delicate tropical fruit undertone; subtle cracker and biscuit grain character; pine hop note. Medium body; crisp and dry on the palate.
This fine treat of a beer satisfies the beer soul. Nicely balanced, sublimely complex.
ABV: 8%; pouring temperature: 51 °F: canning info: 4/17/24

Clear gold with a slight tinge of haze. Small white head. Good retention.
Pineapple and grapefruit, lemon, cannabis, honey, touch of mango and pine.
Taste follows the nose. Pineapple and pink grapefruit upfront, lemon candy, hint of mango, crackers and honey, white pepper, pine and cannabis.
Beer is incredibly dry and the alcohol is dangerously hidden. Smooth as all get out. Medium-plus oily body, well carbed, crisp dry finish. Feels a bit warm going down--especially as it warms--but otherwise it's evanescent.
A damn fine 4/20 beer if I ever tasted one. Not the "dankest" IPA I've ever had if they're truly going for the cannabis approach, but there are similarities. Instead, it's just one hell of a crushable DIPA. And long live Sleep!

Had this at the brewery on Monday, May 27, 2018. Dark place, but cool to drink. Anyways, pours a slightly bright mixture of orange and yellow color with 1/4" white head on the top, slightly cloudy body but not quite entering flaked NE territory on this one. Aroma was a mixture of tropical weed and alcohol bitterness.
Taste, moderately bitter, but it was a little hotter than expected. Of all the hoppy beers of theirs I had, I thought this was the least impressive due the amount of the alcohol and bitterness dominated the flavor and the mouth feel. Just had a sting that overshadowed the mild comparative tropical weed garlic notes. Ctz hops? Simcoe? Summit? Dunno. Those were the impressions though. Just had an aspect of it that wasn't up my alley, despite really digging some of their other stuff (all their other stuff more than this).

Presentation: 16 oz. can with the canning date printed on the bottom. Served in a Munique glass.
Appearance: The thick, two finger head stays around for a very long time and leaves behind a lot of patchy lacing. It's a murky, opaque, straw color.
Smell: It's a very pleasant, fruity scent with notes of grapefruit and lemon. There's also some earthier notes of malt, pine and even honey.
Taste: It's pretty mild and not bitter at all. There's orange, melon, peach and a slight pine resin in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel: It's light to medium bodied and quite refreshing with medium-low carbonation. It gets a bit chalky towards the end.
Overall: It's a soft, well balanced and easy to drink beer.

this has been recently remade, and i think its awesome they are canning one of the older trve beers, and putting their hoppy stuff in this format more generally, maybe it will help them get the credit they deserve for making some of the best beers in the state! in any event, this is a big sticky hazy one, they tend to run a little sweet at this strength, and this one certainly does, milky looking almost, but super lively and heady as well, and with an amazing aroma of fresh and fruity dry hops, kiwi fruit, orange peel, pink grapefruit, and pineapple juice come to mind, but there is also an earthy woodsy element to the hop profile that keeps it pretty well grounded, a mouthwatering nose, even though i still get some grain sugar and some booze, the hops are that forward and dynamic. the flavor is almost as good as the nose, and i like the dry cereal grain base supporting it all, its well constructed on the mash side, and the hops really cling to the sediment in this, a long linger on the swallow, spruce and citrus for me, some good sativa flower, and an almost candied element. the alcohol is there all the way through, especially when it warms up some, but i dont mind it in the style, and honestly think it helps the finish. overall a really big but really good ipa from these guys, not my all time favorite of their hoppy stuff, but this should put them on the map with the haze nerds, since they somehow arent already...
