A roasty espresso with just enough burnt sugar to balance it out. Very bitter, but with creaminess round it off at the finish. Well done!

12 oz. bottle into a pint glass
A - 1 finger dark tan head with a moderately hard pour. Head is very creamy in appearance and dissipates extremely slowly. Minor carbonation clinging to the sides of the glass. Beer is black and opaque with no visible rising carbonation. 4.25/5
S - Espresso and dark chocolate hit my nose right away along with a note of dark stone fruit (dates and raisins). There is a very sweet note of molasses along with toffee that provides a nice sweet undertone to the aroma. Because of the dark stone fruit and molasses/toffee notes the aroma leans towards a very dark sweetness. 4/5
T - Dark roasted malt and a bit of toffee right off the bat immediately followed by a bit of espresso and cream. The middle of the tasting profile an interesting combination of sweet (molasses and toffee), earthy (leather and tobacco), and bitter (dark chocolate). Light note of vanilla right before the beer finishes with an espresso bitterness that lingers quite a while along with a bit of milk chocolate. 4.25/5
M - Very smooth, creamy, and full bodied. Very little in the way of carbonation, although there is some that is perceptible. No drying on the back end which is a nice change from many of the stouts that I have sampled lately. 4/5
O - Nicely balanced imperial stout that has an interesting array of flavors that keep the palate busy. Perfect beer for a cold day and to pair with food, or even to drink by itself. Not the highest abv for an imperial stout that I have had but the 7.4% helps to bring the flavors out nicely. 4/5
