Served too cold? This beer just got better and better as it warmed.

Sometimes a beer is all about location and vibe. I’m currently drinking a half liter of this beer vom fass inside of an old bus made into a lounge inside of a hipster biergarten in Berlin. And it tastes wayyy better than the score indicates. A proper, slightly sweet, tasty Helles.

I tried this from a Spalter Lager glass and it gave off a normal sized head for a lager with a very white color. The body was exceptionally golden, almost Kristall. The first thing that you notice about this beer is the incredible hops that go into it. They are easy to smell and the town of Spalt prides itself for collecting some of the best hops in all of Bavaria. The beer has a smooth taste, that is of course accented by the rich hops and finishes with a nice clean feel. I was pleasantly surprised.

Deep yellow color, thin perlage. Average foam, creamy, not too compact, but a lot.
In the smell a strong cooked cereals note.
In the taste there are some good hop, but even again some cooked cereals.
Average to light in body. A bit too carbonated.
In the aftertaste a quit elong hop bitterness, with an almost "warm" feeling.

Frothy bright white head looks like something that came out of a hand pump, and it left some nice lace. Glowing dark golden beer holds a few lazily rising bubbles. Hints of spicy hops, flowers, and something akin to alcohol (it's not like that overwhelming alcohol smell). Mouthfeel soft, fluffy, like drink a cloud. A light malt base holds down the flavor while it's fancied up by a bit of floral hops that turn slightly grassy towards the finish. A fine, delicate beer that just hits the spot. The flavor is simple and to the point. Highly recommended.
