On tap at Jealous Monk. Pours a translucent golden orange with no head. Lots of lacing. The aroma is malty and boozey with some citrus peel and floral hop notes. The taste is lots of malts along with citrus hops and caramel. Boozey finish with more citrus hops and the malts. Lighter body than expected for the style. Pretty hoppy barleywine that I would look for again.

Sampling a cellar temp 12 oz can poured into my snifter.
The beer pours a clear copper color with a bleached white head of 1 cm that fades quickly to a sturdy edge layer.
the aroma is sort of sweet with some caramel and white grapes mixing, but also a heavy dose of floral hop character. The white grape is a little vinous and is probably also related to the booze on this higher ABV brew.
The first sip reveals a sticky textured brew with very fine and tingly carbonation. The body is not too thick but definitely not watery either.
Flavor is some sweet caramel and what tastes like candi sugar. I also get the white grape notes and a bit of white wine. The ABV is again the likely culprit here for the vinous character.
This is a nice and interesting barleywine, definitely more American style than English.
Im enjoying it and finding that the 10.5% packs a sneaky punch by the end of the can.
Another winner from Relic!
