Sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. The beer was purchased at the brewery on a recent visit with the owner Mark.
Beer pours a rich mahogany color and some deep ruby highlights. There is a creamy beige to copper colored head of 1.5 cm. This foam fades quickly to a thin edge layer.
The aroma is rich with malt character. I get toffee and caramel mixing together. There is also a bit of dark fruit, plum or red grape mixed in but no hint of hop character. The booze is also well hidden on the nose.
First sip reveals a medium body with a slick body and spacious carbonation. The beer drinks very easy based on the physical traits.
The flavor is as the nose advertised with caramel and toffee. A dose of brown sugar and some dark fruit again with plums on the finish. No hops shine through here and no abv either. This is a very easy drinking doppelbock and I enjoy drinking it.
Great beer for the season and for any malt loving beerdrinkers out there.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
