The Brew master just tries too hard. I have had Thice 10 plus times.....always different some great some good. The desire to experiment seems to overrule consistency. What is to signature beer? Many are good, but a unique Brett hop seems to seep into many of the products....tasting good one day.....dumping is as undrinkable days later. Brew-master has great ideas but no signature beer. Hooker has its Blonde, Boulevard has its Rye on Rye & Tank, Dogfish its 90 minute, WHEN will Mark settle on a Go TO Beer? Thice earns a 3.5 to 4.25 depending on batch, maybe its just small batches that vary temp too much....go large and be successful! Love it when its good.

I can't make this up, I got these in a trade as extras (duality, thrice, rocco) and was super excited. I always ask for "local extras" in hopes to discover a new gem. Duality was a hot mess. Smell wasn't even good and it tasted like a sour. Not even a good sour. I cracked this one and the smell was a bit better. It had a hint of Belgian yeast and sweetness. I sipped through the 2 finger head with confidence. MISTAKE. Same story thrice verse. Terrible. I'll drink anything I can stomach but my stomach said forget it, get a real beer. Truly hoping rocco is ok. Was truly great full to receive it and the others.

Sadly I have to agree with acread below, this is a mess. This is the third beer of theirs I have tried (Duality and Field Hand being the others) and each of those also exhibited the clear signs of infection. Awful smell present as soon as the bottle is opened and a sour, sharp taste - clearly not the way even a bad Tripel is supposed to be. Not sure what is going on with this brewery, but until they get some quality control in place I won't be purchasing any more beer from them. Too bad, as I have read some great reviews and had high hopes. Nothing like a completely ruined beer to wreck those hopes. Avoid.

One of the worst beers I have ever had. This is not a Tripel, this is an infected mess. Sour, funky, medicinal, plastic, it's got all the qualities of a highly infected beer. I don't even know how to rate the potential of this beer properly since it is so completely overwhelmed by its flaws. I very rarely drain-pour a beer (once every couple of years at most), but two sips in and down the drain it goes. Just awful. I sincerely hope that Relic learns how to properly manage its yeast and sanitation practices. They enjoy a lot of support, and it would be nice to see them make good beer.

I have had this before at the brewery, which I would recommend visiting if you find yourself in Plainville, CT. The owner will give you as many samples as you desire and explain everything that goes into each beer. I purchased a bomber for the purpose of this rating and poured it into a goblet. The appearance is a hazy orange/yellow color. There is a light head, but a nice amount of lacing. There is an aroma of apricot, belgian yeast, lemon and pepper. The mouthfeel is nicely carbonated and moderate to heavy. The taste is moderately sweet at first with a hint of lemon and apple. The finish has a mild hoppy dryness and there is little evidence of the 9% abv. This is a very nice easy drinking and not overly sweet triple.

Sampling a cellar temp bottle poured into a slightly cloudy goldenrod hue with very minimal bleached white head, even after an aggressive pour. The head does remain as a sturdy edge layer throughout the sampling.
Aroma is bready yeast and dough with some fruity notes, white grape and apples, maybe peach? Generally sweet nose with lots of spicy notes with cloves dominant.
First sip reveals a lightbody and mild, soft carbonation that rolls gently across my palate.
Flavor is sweet and biscuity yeast with more white grapes and cloves and a bit of booze.
The beer is well crafted complex and interesting.
Glad to have been able to sample a bottle!

A hazy yellow gold with a solid white head and wispy lacing. The aroma is sweet spice grain with a touch of clove. The flavor brings bright lemon over more cereal grain and some bubblegum clove. Medium-light body and a light tingly feel with some slick substance to it. Carbonation is more than adequate with a tiny bubbled but frisky effect. A highly drinkable refreshment with great Belgian personality. Yet another Relic brew you can bank on!
