Poured into a plastic cup at the Dallas Farmer's Market Food Hall. Looked pleasant, like a full bodied brown ale, but with little head. Pleasantly aromatic, with no spices or off colour notes. But the spices hit the back of the throat and not the tongue, and are neither too bold to be noticeable nor too mild to simple be a background note. The odd pepper aftertaste is the distinguishing feature. I could not distinguish much body or more classic beer traits, just a murky umami note followed by the spice, with little carbonation and a slight maltiness. Yet I kept drinking, as it was still refreshing and somewhat creamy.

a brown ale with ghost chili peppers, i was pretty intimidated to try this, as other ghost chili beers have not really worked for me, but they have somehow done an amazing job keeping the heat down a little bit but having the full flavor of the pepper on display. i think a brown ale like this, lighter and a little sweet with notes of honey and chocolate is a nice base beer for the pepper instead of something less significant like a wheat or a blonde. the malt flavor loves the pepper here, which has some juicy citrus notes to it, mango suggestions, and then a bit of slowly ramping up capsicum and heat. the heat levels out before it hits the throat, and thankfully doesnt last real long after the swallow, they must have been pretty judicious in adding the pepper, its close to the line, but just right. good carbonation helps cool it off a little too. i did not expect to like this one nearly as much as i did, which i suppose it s great compliment to the brewer, especially in this chili beer category, which is so much more often disastrous than enjoyable. well done for what it is, but still not for everyone!

A. Brown in color, minimal head and lace.
S. Coco some light spice.
T. More coco and pecan, very subtle spiciness, really sad that the pepper kick is as little as it is.
M. Crisp refreshing mouthfeel.
O. Overall disappointed that the ghost chili pepper wasn't very strong, but it wasn't a bad beer. Had in a snifter glass at harvest house.

On tap at Meddlesome Moth poured into a pint glass. Dark brown appearance with decent carbonation. Taste is aa light brown ale with subtle ghost pepper on the after taste. Limp body, not a whole lot going on here.

Overall a swing and a miss. Do not what they were thinking here other than a cool concept/name.
