Here is another hoppy beer from Peticolas, I believe it was the third one I had last summer and the least bad of the bunch. Also drank out on the delta side of Pitt Dam on the Humboldt River.
Pours a crystal malty amber color like appearance with requisite viscosity and 1/3" off white head. The aroma was virtually absent hop wise, lots of C hops but seemingly on the hot side of things. Amarillo seems like words used, but not the hops, at least aromatically.
Taste, boy I hope you like English malty ipas with almost zero hop flavor. This is it. This is now, this is what we haven't been waiting for. Cardboard, wood, dirt and thickness alongside a copper penny bitterness. Do you like almost fusel like alcohol heat? Say no more fam. It's here. (Bray Wyatt music pops). Really the only bold things going on are the hefty barley body and metal like bitterness. Its definitely an ipa for those who think the ipa style peaked in like 1997. The light pine and grapefruit rind barely peeks out behind the maltiness, but it at least gets this beer moving in the slightest positive direction.

Decent hoppy aroma which leads into a balanced (well, maybe a bit bitter) flavor. A little bit of bitterness on the finish but mostly a nice balance. Cheers!

This unfiltered IPA has virtually no aroma, tastes OK, but does have a yeasty, bitter finish. Compared with others in this space, it severely lacks rhe luster.

So this beer was phenomenal the first time i had it on draft. Light, easy drinking ipa with a bold hop aroma and flavor. The last 3 times ive had it on draft since, much worse. Bland flavoring, mild hop aroma and stark bitterness. Cardboard on the back. Not sure what happened, this was going to be my favorite new beer of the summer
