Once again we're reviewing a hoppy beer from a brewery I'm not impressed with in terms of their hoppy beers. Other stuff, yes, good. Especially that light beer. Wow, this is the first time the beer is being reviewed on BA.
Anyways, this pours an ibu wars like amber. Drank it out at Tunnel Spot on the Humboldt River in August 2020. 1/3" white head. The aroma was maltiness earthen, bittering hops and booziness.
Taste and mouth feel destroys the commercial tug job about a light malt bill. Its practically an American barleywine malt bill. Definitely American barleywine ibu levels. Massive amounts of bittering leaving a boozy, bitter, copper, caramel kind of mouth feel all the way. Lemme tell you, 16oz of this was challenging to finish. Azacca and Denali hops continue their streak of meh performance in my book.
I guess if you're looking at getting kind of a cheap buzz, this does have a decent cost to buzz ratio, but I'm not college broke anymore, so this doesn't move the needle for me.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
