On tap at Pizza Plant in Amherst, NY.
This pours a nice dark black, with a small foamy head, and a good amount of lacing.
Smells like chocolate, lactose, roasted malt, and some chili pepper aromas.
This has a really absurdly creamy and silky flavor to it, the lactose game is strong in this one. There's some peppery heat, not too much, but it does build up slowly on the palate. There's definitely some bitter dark chocolate, and slightly burnt roasted malt. It finishes kinda flatly, though, a little watery on the finish.
This is medium bodied, not quite as thick as I'd like, with a very creamy mouthfeel. This almost feels like it was on nitro, but it's not, which is peculiar.
A really interesting beer, not without some minor flaws, though.

Got to try this beer thanks to Premier which always has great Community Beer Works specialties. This a beer they brewed with ancho and chipotles.
Poured out of the growler it created a luscious dark head and a real thick body that is pitch black.
The smell was nutty with a slight hint of chiles and a slight burning. Not sure if this was from the peppers or just the alcohol.
The beer is sweet up front with a dark milk chocolate rich back and a nice leftover taste of chilies. This beer is in no way overpowering. It adds a nice light burn that now I've found myself sweating which is a cool effect.
The only other chipotle beer I've had is Rouge's which is completely different then what this is.
This is complex and very subtle and I'm happy I got to try it. If you're able to get it before it runs out head over to Premier. It's worth the 18 bucks for 64oz.
