A collaboration with Mr. B’s Wine and Spirits. For this special one-time beer, we took one of River North's classics~ Quandary Belgian-style quadrupel ale and aged it for about 7 months in fresh bourbon barrels from High West Distillery. About half-way through the aging process, we added a small amount of cherries or in other words, "put the cherry on top" of this already spectacular barrel-aged brew! This is the first time that High West whiskey barrels have been used in the great state of Colorado and we couldn't have drawn up a better scenario to introduce these top quality spirit barrels into the state.
This beer is one of the most exclusive River North releases to date; only 30 cases were bottled. Individually numbered bombers available both at Mr. B’s and the taproom.

Cloudy copper with small white head.
Aroma of yeast, spice, wood and cherry. Medium mouthfeel with light sweet fruit and spice with cherry boozy finish.
Not really well balanced, to boozy, but drinkable

Pour is copper brown with red hues and a tight small bubbles light brown head. Nose is fairly well balanced, candied sugars, sweet cherries, moderate yeast and light spice. Taste has a touch of twang in the finish detracting from the flavors a bit. More on the sweet side like the nose, candied sugar with strong cherry. The yeast note is pronounced in the back with a light spice. Good medium body and moderate carbonation.

I was trying to resist and wait for this one but after working several 12+ hour shifts this week I could not resist.
Bomber, Tulip Glass
A - Half finger head with very little lacing. Nice effervescent carbonation coming from the bottom of the glass. Has a nice amber color almost that of agave nectar or maple syrup
S- There are note of plum and raisin and a slight hint of cocoa
T- Smooth sweet with hint of cheery and a cocoa finish. Resemblance to a cheery cordial candy but a perfect sweetness.
M- Smooth and creamy with a effervescent finish
O- This is a smooth savory beer that will only mellow more with age. The carbonation has a bit of a bite would be my only qualm. The aftertaste is very pleasant. I should have let it age a Little longer.
