A bottle purchased in CO back in 2016 and stored in the beer fridge. It's time to drain this in my 14oz. dailyware Belgian glass to find out if age has treated it well?

Look- Pours a slightly cloudy sparkling gold leaving a few centimeters of soapy white foam behind. A wee bit of lacing is present.

Smell- Lemon/orange zest, coriander, cotton candy, musty wood and mild whiskey.

Taste- Lemon zest, candy sugar, coriander, whiskey and oak.

Feel- Slightly creamy up front yielding to a crisp dry finish.

Overall- Age has been very kind to this beer in my opinion. The whiskey has smoothed out allowing more citrus and spice of the base beer to emerge making the whiskey and wood more a sidecar now. Scary easy drinking at 10.2%.

Appearance: Pours cloudy and honey colored with a frothy, rocky head that fades somewhat quickly; o lot of spotty lacing hangs around

Smell: Spicy yeast, apple, orange zest, oak and whiskey

Taste: Toffee, orange zest, white pepper, clove and apple, up front, with bubble gum, coconut and Whiskey tones developing; the Whiskey and oak build in intensity, after the swallow and through the finish

Mouthfeel: Medium to full body with moderate carbonation; some warmth in the gullet

Overall: A lot going on here, but I wouldn't recognize that the base beer as a Saison; more like a Belgian Strong in Whiskey and I am not a huge fan of the combo

Thanks, eawolff99, for the opportunity

22 ounce bottle into a tulip glass.

Pours a vivid yellow, a little cloudy, with a one finger head and some soapy lacing. Smell brings yeast, light malt, oak, a little burnt sugar, a little apple. Some whiskey as it warms. Taste is yeast, light malt, oak, more whiskey initially than the nose, and then more again, as it warms. Also, some vanilla and a little caramel. Smooth, solid body, well carbonated.

Really liked this one, the whiskey didn't overwhelm and the saison was a strong and flavorful base. Well balanced. Definitely worth a purchase.

Look: Two fingers of rocky off-white head dissipated quickly. Color is a hazy copper. Active carbonation. Pretty lacing

Smell: Plenty of sweet sweet bourbon. Some clove and coconut.

Taste: Sweet whiskey and oak up front through mid palate. Vanilla and some light bubble gum and clove. Combination of Vanilla and coconut gives a sort of almost chocolate appeal.

Feel: Perfectly creamy. Fairly big. Fun carbonation.

Overall: Certainly one for bourbon lovers. The saison really takes to these whiskey barrels well. There really isn't much left of the saison that shine's through but it is a delicious brew. I'm certainly glad I grabbed an additional bottle to let age a little bit. Maybe I'll revisit it here when the time comes. In the mean time, if you can get your hands on one, buy buy buy it.
