Honey yellow body, mildly cloudy; one-finger thick head, foamy and creamy. Soft ginger notes in the aroma; bready malt suggestions. Strong ginger presence in the taste; earthy and phenolic; a bit of lemon underneath; bread crust; light whiskey and white oak presence. Medium-heavy body; crisp, with a dry bite.
The brewery highlights the ginger and lemon peel ingredients, and they certainly stand out. At 10.0% ABV, it may seem a bit boozy, especially with the prominent spiciness, yet the beer easily grows on you if you nurse it along gently. An interesting and intriguing saison styling.
