Moderately cloudy, gold tinted amber color. Poured with a minimal head.
Sweet red raspberry up front, joined at the finish by tart farmhouse notes and a bit of dry cab. sav. More berry than wine by a fairly wide margin. I wanted this to be more vinous. Dang good overall though.

Murky faded ruby, faint white ring. Wonderful raspberry atop red wine, oak, and slight cherry, very pleasant. Taste is much more wine centric, becoming the main star after the initial raspberry jello beginning, oak and cherry cough syrup support, vinous note are boozy and harsh as it warms. Feel is syrupy, smooth with moments of unexpected heat and oaky. Just doesn't do anything superbly in taste and feel, and overall gets old after an ounce or two

You taste more of the cabinet sauvignon from the barrels than raspberry. Goes down smooth as well. Very interesting ale.
