Poured at 57.7°. Rocky two-tone tan top; fizzy, yet leaves some cap retention; black with ruby edges; bands of lace/no legs on swirl. Roast malt, coconut nose; kinda sweet prune juicy as it warmed. Sweet chocolate entry followed by coconut; burnt grain, toasted black bread. Thin feel, medium light body, no warmth from 12.1% abv; light plus carbonation; dusty tongue coating. Overall, disappointing; there’s a coconut linger but the overall tastes artificial…

A: The beer is jet black in color. It poured with a short tan colored head that quickly died down, leaving a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of roasted malts are present in the nose along with notes of toasted coconuts.
T: The taste follows the smell, except that there are also notes of chocolate and the flavors of coconuts become a bit stronger as the beer warms up.
M: It feels medium- to full-bodied and a bit smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I thought ti would have been nicer if this beer had more coconuts than roasted malts but this stout did a very good job at masking the alcohol from the taste.

Nice and roasty with a subtle coconut taste. Love how smooth and mellow this is for a 12% brew. Easy to sip and savor. Coconut is more pronounced in the nose as it warms. Delicious.
