Not loving this one. The rich caramel and toffee up front are very nice but it falls apart after that. An odd floral note emerges in the middle along with an unpleasant, artificial, sugary fruit reminiscent of bad kids candy. The has a little rye and too much oak.

Amber hue, mild head and lacing. Scents of molasses, honey, dark fruit, whiskey barrel. Taste presents those flavors in a subtle manner, slightly sweet vanilla presence, oaky, boozy. Medium bodied, mild alcohol burn. Very enjoyable version of the style.

Pours reddish-brown. Smell is dominated by fruits, whiskey and sweetness. Taste follows nose & well balance of the dark fruits, whiskey & sweetness. Medium mouthfeel. Outstanding barleywine.

Thanks to Tavour for this purchase. Beautiful dark amber color. Smell is bready and dark fruits with a hint of whiskey barrel. Taste is beautifully balanced between dark fruits, spicy Rye barrel and bready sweetness. Not too sweet, very nicely balanced. A terrific English Barleywine.
