Pours a clear yet very dark brown color, opaque in the glass; thin, fizzy head, light brown and dissipates quickly to a thin circumference inside the glass. Rich, dark chocolate aroma infused with hints of whiskey; roasted and charred grains; roasted nuts; toasted coconut. Heavy, robust flavors emphasizing chocolate, cocoa, and whiskey. Heavy body; dense and chewy; slick and sticky on the palate; bold alcohol warmth and heat.
This is a stunning barrel aged imperial porter. The base beer is quite solid while the barrel aging adds a nice contrasting element to the base beer's inherent sweetness. Just a killer beer.
ABV: 19.2%; pouring temperature: 51.5 °F; bottling info: Vintage 2024; cases bottled: 99; barrels: Colorado whiskey & rye
