Clear, dark brown pour, opaque appearance in the glass; thin, light tan head yet long-lasting, dense and creamy texture. Deep, rich, inviting nose; milk chocolate and cacao nibs; trace of whiskey nicely balances the inherent sweetness and dark grain profile. Taste elevates the smell qualities; earthy sweet cocoa powder and milk chocolate; oak barrel wood; tame boozy presence adding depth and complexity to the flavor. Medium-heavy mouthfeel; smooth, not quite syrupy yet dense and slippery.
This wonderfully rich and tasty barrel aged chocolate barleywine hits on all cylinders. Fantastically balanced and complex, tickles the taste buds and leaves you with a soul-satisfying dark beer treat.
ABV: 13.7%; pouring temperature: 50.3 °F; bottling info: 2026
