this is hands down the best beer at caution right now, at least in my opinion. they have hit the right mix of inventiveness and quality, and i really love it. its a lightly hopped american pale ale, with a blend of green teas and fermented (at least partially) with sake yeast. its subtle in all the right ways, but also extremely distinct, and this beer has given me new respect for these guys. really pale in color, looks more like a blonde ale, with a full inch of white head on top. a nose of herbaceous tea, you can really smell it, some lemony type hops, and the soft white wine sort of yeast element, really well layered and put together. the flavor is far hoppier than the nose, not sure what they use, but it has a distinct lemon flavor to it, which is an awesome compliment to the dry bitter earthy green tea. hard to use tea without having it take a beer over, and they have used it really well here. the sake yeast is an awesome touch as well, drying and quite flavorful, adding to the floral character of the beer, and picking up the alcohol a little bit in the finish. i am surprised this beer hasnt garnered more attention. there is nothing like it out there, and its superbly done. the combination of the tea, the dry hopping, and the yeast is really fabulous. i should have gotten a growler fill...
