Pours a hazy golden colour with a rich and fluffy white head. Poor head retention but very nice lacing.
Aroma is minimal with just a fee touches of malt and some lightly herbal hops.
Very soft malt comes onto the palate but the killer here is some diacetyl that just doesn't sit properly. A little disappointing.
Medium body with moderately low carbonation.
I don't mind this but I'm not going out of my way to order it again.

A Pitcher between four of us, taken late April 2011, in the brewpub.
Watched it poured and brought to the table, couldn't have been fresher, it was brewed two yards away from were it was dispenced.
Cloudy, light amber body, good head on the pitcher, and good lacing. Strangley in the glass the head faded quickly and produced no lacing at all.
Smooth, easy to drink, no smell of note, OK, some floral hop content if you put your head into the half empty Pitcher!

Served on tap in a glass mug to 0,4 L at Georg Brau Brauhaus, Berlin, Germany.
A: Hazy, golden-amber with copious, creamy 1-2 finger of frothy nearly white head that lasts down the glass with nice lacing. The haziness is good for a kellerbier but not so for a pils.
S: Very mild tangy toasted maltiness, makes you think there is wheat in there, with understated herbal hopping
T: Unobtrusive but thus unexciting to some degree. Maltiness is firm and more reminiscent of a kellerbier with creamy texture and a sweet but tangy malt component. The hops are probably good for a kellerbier, but they call it a pils or helles per different waitstaff. Not sure really what it's supposed to be. Not watered down at all, but just kind of plain.
M: Creamy feel helps a lot to make this very drinkable and sessionable.
O: Nice atmosphere and a nice place to meet friends for a few brews. But the beer is okay to good and not really sure what style it is supposed to be, but I agree with kellerbier or wheat ale most of any of the possible options.

Wait on directly to the pub and presented as Pils Helles and Pils Dunkel, it is not so clear if there are two different beers, light and dark, or simply a variant of the same beer. Considering that makes no sense to speak of "dark Pils", the votes will be only related to the Helles Pils, but both will be reviewed.
The Hell is light orange, while the Dunkel is more orange and more defined. For both the foam is white, but not very persistent. The smell has traces of malt and caramel, not as a Pils style, as stated on the menu. Concerning the tastes these are different: the pale one tends to be more hopped closer to the typical hopped pils style, while the dark is more sweet and caramelized, but without overdo.
The aftertaste of the Hell is an alternation of malt and hops, but not well mixed, while the dark one, with less hops, is characterize of malted scent not too pleasant. In general there is a hint of acid not so pleasant.
To sum up both versions do not satisfy. The Hell's version is better because at least has a hop more evident that "saves" the beer and helps to finish the mug. But both are unnecessary and superfluous.

Maybe it was the summer ambience, but this (the helles) version of the georg pils wasn't all too bad. appearance was a cloudy straw one with a quickly disappearing head. faint malty smell and a soft rather wheaty taste topped by a bitter ending. taste isn't too strong nor is the mouthfeel making it a less-than-amazing beer but a decent sessionable beer for a sunny brandemburger afternoon.

I showed up at Brauhaus Georgbræu after drinking several litres of beer at the Lindenbräu am Potsdamer Platz. Thinking that I saw "ein litre" on the menu I ordered the "ein meter" and within minutes had a narrow tray, one meter long, squeezed onto the table. It held 12 x 0.2l of this beer.
Appearance: Cloudy golden, unlfitered offerings with rich creamy heads that lasted to the bottom.
Taste: Creamy, sweet and toasty upfront. It doesn't last long. A low bitterness pushes thru with a touch of rind character, followed by a Starburst fruity candy-like fruitiness. Bitty, dry finish.
Notes: Overall a very good offering. Most enjoyable, and it aided in the other menu mistake of the night ... "Blutwurst" ... but that's another story.
Georg Pils is the only beer brewed at the brewpub, and served exclusively at the brewpub. Given this, it could get a bit "samey" if you planned on hanging out at the brewpub and drinking just this beer all night.
(PS - In case you were wondering, I managed to finish 9 of the 12 glasses of beer ... and 1-1/2 of 2 Blutwursts.)
