I had this beer directly at the brewer site. The Aux fous brassant, is located in Quebec province in Rivière du Loup. We have taste 5 beer, me and my cousin. The tasting glass are given to you in a 5 oz glasses.

The Fun noir is a nice american stout, that will make a nice competition to the indisputable Guinness.

This one is hard to get but if you have the chance to try this one don't miss out.

The after taste is like cocoa 80% and a nice touch of burned wood. I will try to get this one again, but it is sold only locally.

The color is more darker than the guinness.

The alcool content ABV 4.3%, the IBU is around 20.

This one is really nice and different, but it will be hard to get more than two beer in a row.

Congratulation for this unbelievable taste.

The 5oz glasses sell for 2.50$ directly at the tap.

If you pass in Rivière du Loup Qc. , don't miss this occasion..... a must I garantee. If you like the Guinness you will love this one for sure.

Got it again at home on May 20 2017 : )

SERVICE: Bottle

A:
Pours a thick pitch black cola color that yields about a finger's worth of tan head with a very aggressive pour. Meh retention; no lacing. (3.5)

S:
Roasty malt character. Cocoa, molasses, coffee, weak licorice. (3.5)

T:
Thin and bubbly with a touch of the nose in it and some cola flavors. Metallic water, some coffee, chocolate milk, dirty hops at the finish. (3.25)

M:
Thin, watery, light bodied, pretty aggressive carbonation, slight finish. (3)

O:
Meh take on a stout.
This is an intriguing-looking beer in the bottle because it is just a blank bottle with a bar code and a hand-date stamped label hanging around the neck. But beyond that I found it to kind of lack. It isn't that it is bad beer. Nothing was off or anything. It just could be bolder and more to the style for my tastes.
Pours with a middling little whiff of head and has a decent smell. Taste and palate wise it is just kind of a husk, though. Not great. Has the potential to be goo, though.
Would not have again (although I will try their other brews); there are better takes on the style out there. (3.25)
