Unlike the other Curitiba breweries, I knew nothing abiut Wensky until I saw a few of their beers listed on-tap at Hop'n Roll. All it took were a few uncommonly brewed styles to lure me in, and the vienna was the first. So, on to the beer:
Copper orange colored, with a head of solid retention and reasonable lace. The nose....we have graham cracker, and a little orange, and a little biscuit. If there's one thing I've noticed in Brazilian craft lagers, it's the use of Vienna malt and sweetness it brings to the nose.
There's a big graham cracker note in its taste. There's even a soggy graham cracker note, but it is in a good way. Attempting to balance it is the touch of citrus and pine. It's still a bit malty for me. The body is almost medium, with a gentle crispness of carbonation.
Wensky Vienna comes out a little too sweet, but nonetheless can be enjoyed in reasonable quantities. It is worth trying.
