As the name Wensky is Polish, perhaps it is appropriate for them to brew a Baltic Porter. I arrived with excitement, but what I received was much different. On to the beer:
Very dark amber in color...okay, it's more like Coca-Cola in color. Orange and yellow hues aren't shy to present themselves, but the head is a little shy to retain for very long on top. While it doesn't look like a Baltic Porter, it does have the smell of one, with reasonable chocolate in the aroma.
It tastes fine, but is it really a Baltic Porter? There's roasted chocolate, coconut, cooked banana, and a subtle touch of yeast. It's quite light for the style, and at 7% ABV, I'd like to see a bigger body.
Wensky Baltic Porter does have its delicious moments, but per style, I must take off a few points, as it looks and feels more like a regular brown ale than a strong porter. If you want something tasty and don't mind styles being blurred, this is for you. Just don't take that last sentence in negativity.
