Appearance: light mahogany, good clarity, medium layer of tannish spongey foam, good head retention
Aroma: rich maltiness laced with vanilla, pipe tobacco, unripe pears, and raisins
Flavor: dry malt base with an almost immediate hop flavor and bitterness combo, touch of roast, quite a gripping bitterness riding out the semi-dry finish but then dwindling to let a nice malt caramel aftertaste take over
Mouthfeel: medium body, gentle carbonation, slight acidity, quite crisp for an Old Ale
Other comments: It reminds me a little bit of thier "Merlin's Magic", but with more hop bitterness. A decent brew, but not a favorite.
