L- Pours a quite hazy pale amber with a 1cm white head of large bubbles, clears quite slowly to lacing.
S- I could smell it from 20cm away when I popped the can, citrus fruits. Up close the smell is between lemon and orange.
T- Grapefruit is prominent for me. Quite blunt at first but my palate did semi-adjust to it.
F- Dry, bitter to the point of sour, pretty tongue-curling at first. The beer carries much saturated CO2 within, which comes out in the mouth or on the swallow. Certainly refreshing if this style is your thing.
O- Interesting to try but perhaps a little youthfully exuberant for me, and very expensive.
£3.20/440ml can from Oddbins, Notting Hill Gate. BB 12/06/19
Notting Hill appears to hold a great interest for the brewery who use it in the name of many of their beers, example: 'Notting Hill Blonde' and so on. Their website features an image of the street-corner at the junction of Goldborne and Bevington Roads in W10 which is about at the northern limit of 'Notting Hill' area, and an epicentre of local hipsterism. The can is coy about where the brewery is located; it turns out it's 3.5miles north in Cricklewood, NW2 near Staples Corner/North Circular Road.
