Hap Motlow, of the legendary Jack Daniel family from Lynchburg, TN, used to tell his friend Harry Lipman: To make great whiskey, you have to start with great beer. As a tribute to this friendship, we selected Jack Daniel’s aged barrels to create our Hap & Harry’s Whiskey Barrel Ale. Hap & Harry’s honors the friendship these two men shared over a half century ago.

16 oz can from Mash and Hops in TN. "3026D" is stamped on the bottom edge of the can.
Pours with a clear, dark, copper colored body and a beige head that's short but replenishes whenever the glass is tipped.
Aroma. Sweet whiskey and whiskey barrel notes are promising, but the flavor may go either way.
Flavor. Better than expected, with plenty of whiskey and whiskey barrel notes but the brown ale base shows far more prominently than the aroma suggests. This has an excellent WBA effect.
Mouthfeel. I thought the carbonation was a bit high the first 1-2 sips but it seemed just right thereafter. The body is medium+ and the carbonation is lively but soft.
