this unfiltered ale is so opaque it looks like golden applesauce in the glass. mosaic hop on the nise big time, with papaya, lychee, and a little barnyard hay. belgian yeast asserts its presence on the tail end, and i also get some tangy guava notes. bitter, dry finish. just found out from the brewery rep that it was kegged today, which explains the cloudiness.

On tap at Monkish Brewing Company in Torrance, CA.
Pours a clear gold with a foamy bone head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, earth, dirt, and raw pumpkin innard aromas. Taste is much the same with earth, dirt, and slight herbal hop flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop and earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is drinkable, but the raw pumpkin aroma is odd and I am not getting any real mosaic hop qualities in either the smell or taste.
Serving type: on tap.
