Milky yellow and white foam.
Floral, hop, spice, soap.
Has that bit of tang of OJ-- just about exactly what I want from Citra & Galaxy. Little bit more intense wouldn't hurt, otherwise excellent.
Feels full to me.

Canned 3/19/19; drank 4/3/19 @ the Yarchives.
Opaque dull yellow/orange appearance.
A violent pour yielded a big off-white head; thick, frothy lace.
Grapefruit, orange citrus & dry grass notes in the nose.
Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Tangy grapefruit & table sugar flavors up front; dry grass & mild booze heat notes on the finish.
A bit tangy, sweet & boozy; Monkish can turn these out in their sleep.
Good, not great.

Sweet orange citrus, slightly malty, and earthy hoppy nose on this one! Taste follows with a orange-tangerine citrus and earthy hoppy bitter swallow...this is more galaxy dominant than I was hoping for. Feels decent on the palate...more medium-bodied than murky...good stuff!
Review for Batch 5 on 2/2/2022 Canned on 1/26/2022! Sweet orange-tangerine citrus and earthy hoppy-dank nose on this one! Taste follows with a tropical hoppy and grapefruit citrus boozy finish...some earthy/grassy notes from galaxy show up on the backend as well. This is pretty good, but it's not hitting like Monkish usually does for me. Drinkable and somewhat enjoyable, just not what I was hoping for.

Huge thanks to WestCoastBeerDude for sending this can in my British Open box! I'm excited - my first beer from the vaunted Monkish Brewing. Reviewed from (very) long-standing notes. Poured from the 16 oz. can into an El Catador teku glass. Consumed late September, 2017.
A: Turbid light gold to truly yellow – just a bit darker than vanilla pudding. A low amount of visible carbonation, and a finger's worth of white head that fades fairly quickly.
S: This is a smell-while-you’re-pouring kinda beer. Tropical fruits and dank and melon. Cracker malts with either wheat or oat richness. Berries and citrus and rind bitterness in the hops as well – but more fruit-forward than bitter. Really appealing nose with tons of tropical fruits and melon.
T: Melon, tropical fruits, and dank. Tangerines and rind bitterness. Lychee and berries and light pineapple. Cracker malts and a definite oat thickness at the swallow. The hops swell up at the swallow as well with more melon and bright juicy tropical fruits. Modestly bitter for a DIPA.
M: Medium body with good carbonation sensation. Very low alcohol presence for a DIPA, though this is a fairly conservative ABV listed.
O: Really, really good. First Monkish beer I've had, so the first opportunity I've had to be wowed - and they didn't let me down. Tasty, disappears quickly, wonderfully fruity.

Sample at Mikkeller Beer Celebration Copenhagen 2018, Gold Session. Really hazy pale yellow color. Aroma has mellow fruit notes like pineapple and melon. Taste is light and grassy with some herbal hop bitterness on the finish. Light body with medium plus carbonation.
