Canned 02/23/19, 'TEKU-LYFE'.
Pours a mildly pale golden yellow, with small, soft head rising to the brim of the glass and settling slowly back into the boy. As the beer drops, the lacing slowly chases the golden nectar, slowly but surely and without leaving much of any retention on the inside of the glass.
That prime "Monkish" Imperial Galaxy nose of tropical mango nectar and candied grapefruit rings true immediately. Underlying aromas of overripe pineapple, honeydew melon, and the slightest touch of sweet malt harmoniously align and create the perfect balance for the nose. Comparing to the other OH collab from this year, the aromas are very similar but the nose on this beer is just a tad brighter, and becomes increasingly dank as it warms.
Honestly these guys need to just merge into a joing brewery and call it Otherish. The work they do is absolutely incredible, and every hophead should have the opportunity to try what they do together at least once in their lives. A re-emergence of tropical fruit, mango and pineapple but with a distinctly hoppier follow-up. The clean, resiny bitterness from the hops really help bring out a stronger flavor of bitter citrus than what was found on the nose, and influence that I can only attribute to the very citrus-forward Cashmere and Citra hops. There's such a subtle complexity to this beer, and it only continues to improve as it warms.
Soft and smooth, with a fairly low but sharp, tingling carbonation. Medium amounts of residual mouth-coating leaves its mark, and a touch of boozy warmth as it finishes. Can't believe how smooth this is for nearly 9%, though. Another absolute banger collab, bravo.

Tropical hoppy dankness for the aromatics. Taste follows closely with a citrus (lemony) bitter bite on swallow. This has a creamy smoothness to it that morphs into a slight nuttiness on the finish.

This unabashed haze bomb features an herbal, peppery dankness and strong resin with an underlying, complex citrus. Monkish goes full bore on this, love it or hate it.

Poured into into the collab teku glass that was sold at the release. Pours a beautifully hazy deep straw color with citrus bomb on the nose, pineapple, grapefruit and orange peel and pine flavor, with a mouthfeel reminiscent of a cloud. With a quick prickly bitter finish on the palate. A beautiful collab by two awesome breweries.
