Had on-tap at Monkish Brewing in Torrance, CA
Appearance - Served up in tallish snifter looking glass, thick haze and faded orange on color with a thin, broken layer of surface suds. Lacing is good, with thick webbing decorating much of the glass.
Smell - Picking up a mostly citrusy aroma, with hints of pineapple and melon.
Taste - Follows the nose. Citrusy orange and a touch of grapefruit with pineapple, mango and a fair amount of melon by mid-taste. Finish has a bit of 'back of the throat' burn, but its not a deal breaker.
Mouthfeel - Medium-bodied with fair carbonation. Soft, velvety texture makes for a smooth drinking experience before a hint of dryness in the finish.
Overall - Space Cookies may have spoiled me, but this is a hell of a beer in its own right. I'm starting to find a trend in their strength is the softness and smoothness in which their beer drinks, while still killing it with strong flavor profiles. Who could ask for more?
