Canned 11/15/19. Been way too long since I’ve had Monkish.
Pours like straight juice. Completely opaque, and somewhat of a murky golden yellow. The head is frothy and laces heavily to the inside of the glass.
The nose on this is dank right off the bat. Hops take the forefront with notes of green onion and a fragrant, floral quality throughout. An almost fermented tropical fruit component balances nicely, with undertones of stone fruit and banana.
On the palate, I’ve got to agree with a lot of what fellow user “mytone” had with this beer with about the same age on it. Big notes of overripe banana and peach compliment herbaceous hops and very noticeable booze on the tail. A unique, but not in any way off-putting Monkish offering. Would have liked to compare to fresh.
Mouthfeel is full and soft-bodied. Carbonation is low. Finish leaves a good amount of bitterness that really dissipates as it warms. Booze is noticeable and warm going down.

L: Beautiful drink! Light yellowish orange hazy appearance, one finger breath head, nice tenacious legs.
S: Funky banana, citrusy, fragrance with some moderate alcohol undertones.
T: How it smells is how it taste. Funky, danky banana, apricot, herbal taste with a slight bitter finish. Very little boozy taste for a Triple IPA.
F: Moderate bodied
O: Beautiful to look at, in my humble opinion, not my thing. I try to view beers based on what I like, based on the classical definition of that style, or a brewer’s creative expression/execution. I don’t understand it.
