Our next imperial milk stout but this round it’s an imperial Mexican chocolate milk stout. Conditioned with cacao nibs, vanilla beans, milk sugar and some cinnamon sticks and ancho chiles for nuances of spice.

Had on-tap at Monkish Brewing in Torrance, CA
Appearance - Served up in a tulip, black in color with cola brown edging when head to light. Thin, tan layer of suds, mostly congregating around the edge of the glass. A handful of spots make up a sparse lacing.
Smell - Spiced stout for sure. Chocolate, cinnamon, somewhat minty, and a trace of chile heat.
Taste - Follows the nose. Deep chocolate flavor hitting on both milk and dark character. Fair roast, though it gets a bit lost in the shuffle. Mild chile and cinnamon spice. Surprising leafy/minty character. Finish is chocolatey and almost has a medicinal quality to it.
Mouthfeel - Full in body with low carbonation. Creamy, slightly syrupy texture. Drinks easy enough before a slightly warming finish.
Overall - Interesting spiced imperial milk stout. The roast and spices do well to subdue/balance the milky sweetness. Surprising minty flavor in there. Small pours work here.

Jet black pour with a substantial dark tan head, this beautiful imperial milk stout has literally buckets of chocolate aromas, some cinnamon and vanilla, and bit of chile.
The chocolate is so prominent up front on the taste, it’s a wonder the vanilla and cinnamon can even be noticed, but they are - and the chiles are also present, especially as the beer warms, cutting the sweetness some. This is outstanding, IMHO.
