Pours a dark burgundy with two fingers of dense khaki foam. Aroma is dark, roasty, and biscuity, wafery malts with big grassy and spicy hops sprinkled in between the underlying malts. Toffee and light fig elevate it a touch more. Flavor profile is lead with big grassy and mild herbal and spicy hops. It's smoothed out on the final half by roasty, caramely, and biscuity malts. Toffee fits into the equation by upping the sweetness. Mouth feel is moderately creamy with a medium-thin consistency. Overall, a smooth malt-to-hop transition, alongside the lagered smoothness keeps this beer drinking easy, with some extra darkness imparted into each sip.

The thang hits well. Kind of like Tony Gwynn; no swinging for the fences, no Jose Caneseco on roids; it’s just smooth and good like when singles and stolen bases were cool. Yeah, this one is Jim Leyland smoking a grit in the tunnel after being tossed. He gone!

Very flavorful, tasty dark lager from the great Monkish Brewing. 3/30/20 date printed on can. Pours a nice medium dark brown, almost almond color with a little fluffy white head and spotty lingering lacing. Aromas of bready malt, toasted nuts, some lighter milk chocolate and roast coffee, caramel and toffee, a trace amount of faint muddled hops and grain. Tastes similarly, but very smooth and flavorful, light and easy to drink and ABV actually felt higher than 5.1%. Smooth, mild mouthfeel, a little sticky, great amount of carbonation. This is a new offering from this brewery and hopefully it catches on and becomes more widely known.
