I am hoping my second 16 oz. can of Monkish is better than that weird, experimental abomination that was Space Cookie. It couldn’t be worse!
The pour is melted creamsicle, the nose orange juice with a side of bittering hops.
Star Sixty Nine is bitter orange juice sorbet. Sharply bitter unlike the bulk of the NE IPA style but with enough residual sugar to make my fillings tingle. Citrus, mango, melon. Big & filling. I split this with my wife & that’s about a single serving for this guy.
Kicks a few holes in the style’s mold but without any wow factor. Solid.

Opaque yellow, white foam.
Cream-sicle.
Bitter orange but no grapefruit tang. Not the juice bomb I’d figure from Citra & Galaxy.
Harsh bitterness on the finish. Full bodied, stout-y.

Mango sorbet, apricot jam & pineapple juice on the nose; huge tropical aromatics. Palate is grassy and milder bitter, with subtler notes of grapefruit peel, dried peaches, & black tea. Simultaneously dry & juicy, with a warm, mildly boozy finish.
