Canned 01/23/2024, "MONKISH MARAUDERS".
An opaque golden haze pours into the glass. A small head of white foam rises and clings to the glass, but is quick to settle back down into an uneven ring around the pale liquid.
The nose exudes notes of underripe mango and pineapple juice; the opening is rich with tropicality. Quick to follow the initial sweetness, zesty grapefruit brings up the rear alongside a subtle dank grassiness. With a bit of time in the glass, a touch of malty sweetness quietly sneaks its way into the profile.
The palate, even after a month in the can, still comes on tasting a little "green". Grapefruit and pineapple burst out the gate, but while the pineapple recedes, the grapefruit intensifies, creating an emphasis on the piney bitterness on the mid-palate. This mild bitterness is met on the finish with pleasant warmth and a touch of residual sweetness.
The mouthfeel is not too heavy, and is cut nicely by a sharp carbonation. As mentioned above, there's a noticeable bitterness from the mid-palate on through the finish, but when combined with the finishing sweetness and booze, it rounds itself out really nicely.

On tap, pours a very hazy yellow-gold. Very complex with lots of tropical fruit, citrus and piney dank. Decent hit of bitterness in the finish, not getting any booze at all. Maybe the best triple IPA I've had.
