Sweet brown sugar, bran cereal, dark/dried red fruits, cherry cordials, and a prominent rye-spice, bourbon barrel boozy nose on this one! Taste follows with a thicc and viscous, dark fruity and a bourbon barrel boozy finish. This definitely leans more dark fruits, almost prune juice like than the classic caramel/toffee notes in a barleywine. Maybe that is from the extended aging? 54 months in a barrel is a long time...surprised I didn't pick up more oxidative notes as it warmed. Still good Lyfe!
