On tap at Monkish Brewing
A: Pours crystal clear golden yellow with a frothy off white head that settles to a firm layer and leaves a little nice lacing.
S: Dank, Southern Hem diesel, herbal, resinous, green and grassy, a little underlying tropical and stone fruit, and biscuity bready malt.
T: Big green grassy resinous dank herbal notes, Southern Hem diesel, citrus zest, grapefruit, lime, and lemon, a little underlying tropical and stone fruit, green melon, passion fruit, underripe apricot, and pineapple, hints of berries, and biscuity bready malt with a dry finish.
M: Medium body, moderate carbonation.
O: Riwaka is so distinct and pungent, you've gotta be ready for the punch it brings. But if you're into it, this one will serve you well. Proper Westy hiding under the pale ale badge.
