First Monkish ever! Canned on 05/04/26, drinking on 05/18/26, so freshness is right there. Poured cold to an IPA glass. Color is a turbid straw yellow, with glints of green toward the top. Three finger poofy head burns down to leave a fair amount of lacing and surface lily pads. Aroma is strong dank overripe citrus. First tastes are interesting. It’s almost backwards from what one might expect. Instead of hops up front, this leads with a bit of tart juiciness, then leads into an almost literal burning hope bite at the end. Not bitter, but burning, like a hot chili pepper. Drinks much bigger than its 7.1% might convey. Residual hop flavor lingers for such a long time, easily five to minutes.
