On tap at Monkish Brewing Company in Torrance, CA.

Pours a clear dark copper with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to a film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, caramel, fruits, and some slight floral aromas. Taste is of malt, caramel, and dark fruit with a floral aftertaste. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is easy to drink with its nice aromas and flavors.

On-tap at Beachwood I,

A: Pours a medium brown with a good white head, some nice lacing.

S: Nutiness right off the bat, with a lot of brown sugar, hints of orange, some floral components.

T: Nice malt flavour, definitely well attenuated, good light dark fruit flavour, some orange and rose petals.

M: Medium-bodied, almost dry, creamy, nice soft carbonation.

O: A good beer, very different than most of the American dubbels I run across. Well made and worth a try.
