The color is nice but the taste is very mild. A slight alkali bitter taste is evident. The carbonation quits by mid-glass. Was expecting more flavor, was disappointed. While palatable there is nothing about this which would encourage me to have another glass.

Dark auburn amber in the tall tulip, a handsome color. Modest foam and carbonation. Flattens out in the mouth. The flavor is so unique I can only guess what's going on here. It tastes like aromatic bark, burnt wooden kitchen matches, fruit grilled too long on the charcoal. Very dry with hints of vermouth. It's very aromatic in the nose-- cedar, fresh sawdust.

There is nothing about this that makes me think of a Belgian Pale Ale. Quite dry and bitter. Herbal and medicinal. It gets to be quite acidic. Burnt malt, scratchy yeast, dark and woody. An indescribable and nearly undrinkable oddity. On tap at Local Habit in San Diego.

Thanks to Oneinchaway for sharing this one at his tasting.

Pours a clear honey orange with a foamy tan head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Small dots of lace slowly drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of malt, grain, citrus zest, slight spice, and floral aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with a very nice citrus, floral, and spice presence.

The beer is a cloudy light amber color with a white head. Aroma is of citrus, mostly orange with a hint of tangerine. Quite a bit of grass, some bready malt, and yeast. Maybe a bit of spice. The grassiness is more pronounced on the palate. Still some citrus, but more along the lines of orange peel. It’s a bit on the bitter side for my tastes. Light malt character, just some bread, and the same light yeastiness.
