Crowler bought and filled yesterday (02/19/2018) and had a date of drink by (02/25/2018).
This was poured into a becher pint glass with their logo on it.
The appearance was a nice looking bright yellow paper color with a thin cap of a little white foamy head. Light concave wispy lace wound around the top of the glass.
The aroma melded some sweet to bitter and juicy orange, ruby red grapefruit, pink grapefruit, some orange zest, bitter grassy hop tones, some lemon zest and then ended with a little bit of sweet creaminess and white bread.
The flavor was moderately bittersweet running through the orange and various grapefruits and then pulling in a nice involvement of the orange and lemon zest which actually seemed barely there as the sweet creaminess seemed to have pushed out the zest. This led to a smooth juicy grapefruit and orange aftertaste with some white bread.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Carbonation felt nice and low like a true New England styled IPA. ABV felt as projected by the brewer. It's very juicy and smooth in the finish and pushes back any possibility of any cloying behavior.
Overall, a model New England styled IPA and definitely one that I'd seek out again.
