On tap at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe (from 2013 notes).
Black with an extremely durable head.
Rich dark malts, lightly smokey, in both taste and smell. Tastes very much like dark roasted malts.
Near full body and medium carbonation.
Flavor: good sweet/bitter balance, but rather simple: the taste and smell of dark roasted malts and not much else.
O: Light barleywine; good but a bit disappointing.

Not an IPA? Or is it? I’m confused…
This pours a cola color with nice foaming. The aroma is malt forward with a slight grapefruit note. There’s just a hint of dankness. I thought it tasted sweet and malty without enough of a roast to sharpen its edges.
