A smooth, toasty brown ale, Best Brown is a mainstay in our fall lineup. With hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has the depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. This balancing act is aided by the generous use of American hops.

Look:
Very dark amber turning brown a little bit of haze, It has a khaki head, good retention beautiful.
Smell:
With all the advertised hops, I would think something would jump out, nope. Note to self: smell versus aroma...
/*Maybe my reviews which often have low scores for smell ... Should be inclusive for the overall aroma, By way of oral detection and inhalation. My equipment is over 60 now and has COVID damage , lol */
Taste:
Toasted malt subtle roasted malt... There's the hops bitter they are... That Smslows things down... Give me some time I think this could be something I like.
Mouthfeel:
Dry pucker leads to hidden sweetness.
American Brown... I'm not sure what that really means... Late in the palate It turns to chocolate Tootsie Roll.
Overall:
It has character, it has layering, it's not what you think at first. I think it's well designed and intentional. Definitely worth another visit. Not what I expected I don't think this is lactose. If it is that's a cheat code.

Nice light brown foam head over a clearish reddish brown body. Scent is malt forward with notes of nut, dough, and caramel. Taste follows nicely, including a bit of a burnt finish helping to round out a sweeter start. Feel is on the lighter side but well balanced and quite drinkable.

Pours a nice mahogany with a tan head.
Smells caramel malt, toasted whole grain bread, coffee, and herbal hops.
Taste follows nose with delicious complexity and balance.

A real classic baker's bitter chocolate malt flavor. Graham cracker, cream, earthy hop, smooth and bold, but crazy drinkable. Fluffy cap leaves foam stash.

Pours a clear, mahogany brown into a 16 oz beer can glass. Large, bubbly head that quickly dissipates into a foamy ring around the perimeter of the glass. Initial
Smell is papery/oxidized, which sucks because I usually really enjoy this beer. Beneath that is Pullman bread crust, earthy hops, marble rye, light roast coffee, cocoa powder, and chocolate covered raisins.
Tastes of brown bread crust, baked raisins, chocolate malted milk balls (sans sweetness), and lingering earthy hop flavor and bitterness. Description states American hops but the flavor speaks British in flavor, American in bitterness.
Body on the medium thin side w/ medium carbonation. Forgot I had it on the counter for a bit so when I finally poured it, it drank almost like a cask ale.
While I find that papery oxidative notes tend to subside about 2/3 of the way through the beer, it was still unfortunate to get those characteristics from such a classic brown ale that I love and miss.

Dark brown pour with amber highlights, finger plus of foamy tan head. Nose brings coco and roasted grain.
Taste is baker's chocolate, medium kilned malt, floral, charred grain. Medium mouthfeel, tongue coating. Finish is chocolate malt with a woody hoppiness.

Clear, brown color. Big. , off-white head. Toasted bread, cocoa, and nuts in aroma. Same notes in sweet taste. Moderate bitterness at the end. Simple but good.
