From the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This most excellent porter pours a
deep dark muddy brown with a very nice head of off white khaki foam that subsides to a
thick ring, thin layer, and shows some spotty lacing. Nose of dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate,
and subtle cola notes mingling with light char and roast. Flavors hit the right note with a rich
and balanced coffee and dark chocolate note that has warming booze (8.1 abv by the way)
that is lightly astringent but not off putting with some char and dark molasses thrown in for
good measure. Very good mouth feel; medium full body, medium light carbonation, and a
rich coffee and chocolate finish with a touch of herbal hops.
More excellence from an excellent brewery.
Cheers
