From the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This most excellent porter pours a
deep dark muddy brown with a very nice head of off white khaki foam that subsides to a
thick ring, thin layer, and shows some spotty lacing. Nose of dark roasted coffee, dark chocolate,
and subtle cola notes mingling with light char and roast. Flavors hit the right note with a rich
and balanced coffee and dark chocolate note that has warming booze (8.1 abv by the way)
that is lightly astringent but not off putting with some char and dark molasses thrown in for
good measure. Very good mouth feel; medium full body, medium light carbonation, and a
rich coffee and chocolate finish with a touch of herbal hops.

More excellence from an excellent brewery.

I wrote on a scrap of paper "dark chocolate, plums, earthy, acrid, chewy, salty, rye bread, bittering" at Bells when I had this. Overall a very nice brew.

Poured from a growler I got at the General Store.

A- Very, very dark brown coffee color as I'd expect from a Porter. Nice head that didn't last too long. Very little lacing.

S- Mostly coffee with a bit of dark chocolate. Very potent when the growler was opened, a bit less once the beer was poured. However, it retained a nice smell throughout drinking.

T- Smooth, quite carbonated and relatively equal amounts of coffee and dark chocolate.

M- Pretty smooth even with the solid amount of carbonation. Very pleasant initial silkiness that turns to flavorful carbonation.

O- An outstandingly drinkable Porter that is ever bit as good as my personal favorite of the style 3F Topless Wytch. May even be a bit smoother though the flavor isn't quite as potent. May reevaluate my top Baltic as this growler is finished up.

Deep brown in color showing ruby colors when light appears. Poured with very minimal head.

Roasty with chocolate and vanilla aromas. Hints of coffee and dark fruits lie behind the roasted malts. Very bready esters as well.

Rich, roasty but simple in character and complexity. Coffee, vanilla, black currant, dark bready grains, bakers chocolate, and some earth.

A bit thin in body and just missing something in the middle to make this a highly drinkable brew for me.
