Served on tap at Bell's Brewery - Eccentric Café.
A: Pours a nearly hazy, ruddy or rose golden color with a one finger, very light pink head, rim retention, and modest lacing.
S: Only very light aromas of plum, berry, and sea salt.
T: Dry and tart. Flavors of black plum (especially the skin) and chardonnay grape, hardly pick up the salt, although the caramel malt backbone is there. Relatively low, but not entirely absent bitterness.
M: Light bodied with solid carbonation. Very refreshing.
O: The word at Eccentric the day I visited was that SS '19-2 is in the running to be the second installment in Bell's Leaves of Grass series. Remarkably light for a Gose, very flavorful, and absolutely delicious. This could very well be my favorite Gose to date. If the rumor is true, I can only hope it and the other installments of the series get nationwide distribution (hint, hint).
