Black in color with no light penetration. There’s a fingernail of brown around the rim and covering a tiny bit of the top. The aroma is of bourbon and oatmeal. I’m tasting a lot of bourbon and a bit of oatmeal. The mouth is thick, sticky, and chewy.

This pours a beautiful midnight black, with generous foaming. I think of pecans and brown sugar from the nose, with a hint of bourbon’s bite. The body is well-rounded, with a prominent roastiness and a long, lingering finish. This is a good one.

The taste of the base oatmeal stout is still detectable, but the bourbon is strong enough that it almost overwhelms it. But I like the bourbon character, so the balance is perfect for me. The abv level almost reaches the point of a 'burn' but it stops just short. Very well done.
