Beautiful pour, capped by a cafe tinged cloud of foam. The aroma is light, with a grapefruit note. More grapefruit zest on the sip, with a mild bitter finish. Tremendously enjoyable.

Black in color with minimal light penetration. There’s a quarter inch of frothy to moderately dense brown foam. Light, soapy lacing is present. The aroma is of light pine and dark malt. I’m tasting pine and lightly bitter coffee. The mouth is lightly sticky and dry.

Look: brownish reddish black, khaki head with impressive lacing
Smell: very hoppy, but clean, a touch of dank/resin. a touch of roast but not much
Taste: definitely roast, char, definitely hoppy but clean, not super resinous
Mouthfeel: again, very light mouthfeel, almost feels like an adjunct lager, but not in a bad way. so carbonated it's almost spicy.
Overall: this...might be my favorite black IPA? it's a tricky style, and I almost always order flights at Bells so that I can try all the varieties, but I find myself buying pints of this. it is VERY dangerously quaffable, would be great on a hot day
