Argilla Brewing Co. "Triple"
on tap at the brewery on 21 March 2015
$6 / 12 oz.
Notes: Cloudy gold-orange body beneath a short head of white that holds fairly well but leaves only spotty lacing behind. Sweet malt and bubblegum aroma with some mild chalky yeastiness and a background hint of citrus. The flavor is sweet with sugar coated apple, spice, and lemon-orange zest. It's quite phenolic, and there's more of the chalky mineralish yeast found in the aroma. It's rich and complex, but lacking finesse; and it finishes sweet and fading but with a pleasant spiciness that eventually brings it back into balance. Medium-full in body, surprisingly, as it's so sweet. Gently zesty and effervescent. Points for uniqueness; and a charming and enjoyable beer to relax with.
