12oz, served on tap 8/1/13
Modified smaller pint glass
A: Pours a deep orange amberish color. Head of about a half finger that lingers for a while. It's a dirty off white type color. Carbonation is OK. Leaves some sticky lacing bits.
S: Smells of earthy piney hop aromas. Some citrus character is there but really dominated by the more herbal earthy hints. Sweet malt backbone. It's definitely a DIPA.
T: Really big punch of piney bitterness up front. Haven't had a DIPA like this in a while. East Coast style. Not bad. The bitterness continues throughout the sip. Even when matched by the sweet malt bill, the close is bitter and lingers on the palate. Dry finish.
M: Its a full medium bodied beer, nearly full.
